After hearing about it for months from my babywearing group- I finally went to The Belly Sprout in Fullerton because I just had to try out the Ergo Carrier. Joy has outgrown the Moby D I purchased used, and I am uncomfortable in the Bjorn her daddy uses.
The first time I visited, Joy was asleep in the van so we sat outside for a while, watching the mamas & their kiddos popping in and skipping out. The curtains were gathered so as to give glimpses of the untold treasures inside, and the positive vibe thrived. I loved the quaint gathering spot the moment I walked in. It is charming and simple, Grace was drawn to the wood floored, recliner lined, open space used for all sorts of fun mama-ventures in the back I perused the nursing tanks, jewelry and skincare for the environment loving maternally blessed. Then Grace and I oohed and ahhed at all the natural, nurturing, earth-friendly fun playthings to examine.
We went in another time to buy the carrier and were again warmly welcomed, but didn't get to meet Christy Funk the owner. She is reputed to be a fabulous mama, full of sage wisdom and savvy advice. Many of the products in the boutique are hand selected by her, and handcrafted by her compadres. I adored the carrier covers made for the Ergo that I ended up purchasing. (I chose the cranberry Organic carrier and have been loving it!)
The visit inspired me to create this blog-site. I aspire to sell my handcrafted baby hats, blankets and park day quilts on it. Until then I will be publishing a series of articles about local hot spots for moms who love learning, laughing & living alongside their 6-10 year old offspring, with the added Joy of bringing baby along to explore.
Let's see where it grows!
